I am nervous for graduation because it means that we all need to be ready to enter the real world. For me, one thing that scares me the most is leaving home and becoming fully independent. All my life I have lived with my family and just to think that I will be leaving for college in a couple of months gets me scared and a bit sad.
Although I am a bit scared, I think I am ready for life after high school. I have been accepted to CSU Bakersfield and Fresno State, but I’m still waiting to hear on CSU Long Beach and CSU Sacramento. Although these are all great universities, I have decided to attend Fresno State. I chose this university because my sister lived in Fresno last year for about a year and we would go visit her often and I now know my way around the area where the university is located. I feel like not feeling lost in a big city, like Fresno, I have a better chance of passing my courses because I wouldn’t have to spend all semester learning how to get around and can focus more on my work needed to complete my courses. I feel like going to Fresno State is the best choice for me because I feel comfortable knowing how to get around and it also fits best for me financially.
I am really looking forward to seeing how it would be like going my separate way. Coming from a small town like Lindsay, I grew up always being around my family and friends. Going to college is going to be a whole different experience for me. I am going to be by myself most of the time, therefore I need to make new friends. One thing I am excited for about college is going to the football games because its going to remind me of when I would go to the football games here at LHS with my friends.
My senior year has been the best. I can’t believe we are just three months away from graduation. I know these three months will be the best. I am really looking forward to Grad-Nite. That’s the night every single senior looks forward to because it's one of the last times we will all get to be together. Disneyland is known to be such a happy and magical place and being there for one whole night with your friends and seniors from different high schools makes it so much more fun and special. Lindsay High school has taught me a lot of things. Among those things are staying motivated, being responsible, how to manage my time wisely, and to never procrastinate. I am very thankful to have attended LHS because the learning facilitators that I’ve had during these past 4 years all have helped me not only pass my courses, but have helped prepare me for the real world. Even after I graduate, I will still consider myself a cardinal because ONCE A CARDINAL, ALWAYS A CARDINAL!
